About Us – Why Choose New Mexico Cancer Center?

Founded by Dr. Barbara McAneny more than four decades ago, New Mexico Cancer Center (NMCC) is dedicated to providing the highest quality, compassionate, and comprehensive cancer care in the state. By centering our care around each patient, your needs are prioritized at every step.

NMCC is dedicated to supporting you when you need it most. We have 24/7 on-call physicians and can usually schedule existing patients within one business day. New patients can typically be accommodated in a timely fashion, once all referrals are in place. We also handle the complexities of healthcare insurance, securing the necessary approvals so you can focus on your health.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by rural New Mexicans, we expanded our services to Gallup, serving the western part of the state and the Navajo Nation. We're committed to bringing world-class cancer care closer to home. By providing accessible, advanced cancer treatment, we've improved patient outcomes and quality of life. We accept Indian Health Services and Medicaid, ensuring that financial barriers don't stand in the way of your care.

Mission

We are a team that is passionate about healing. We deliver the kindness you want and the excellence you expect, with the dignity you deserve. Together, we are New Mexico Cancer Center.

New Mexico Cancer Center is Albuquerque’s Top Cancer Center

Year after year, physicians around the city recognize our doctors as the best in Albuquerque the Magazine’s Top Docs issue. And now, our patients voted us Best Cancer Center in the Albuquerque Journal's Reader's Choice awards.

Being voted Top Cancer Center in Albuquerque and having the best doctors in the city shows that our team is second to none. With our innovative approach to comprehensive care, 24/7 support and next-day appointments, NMCC is leading the way for cancer care across the country as the first certified oncology medical home.
