Artist Statement

I create kiln-worked sculptural glass wall art with the goal of constructing a modern vision of an ancient art form. My approach is modular and contemporary based on the aesthetic styling of the European Bauhaus designs I studied extensively at Ohio State University. I use line, pattern, texture, shape and color as instruments to create intimate, deceptively simple artworks from a deliberate and complex process.

The luminous creations are the aesthetic rewards of letting Earth’s natural materials express themselves as fine art. The contemporary styling and modern color palettes used in the works allow collectors to display multiple pieces together for a harmonious effect.
