I was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia and moved to New Mexico in 1989. My academic explorations culminated with an MFA in Mixed Media from the Academy of Applied Arts University in Belgrade and in postgraduate studies in printmaking from the University of New Mexico. My art exhibition history includes international, national, and local venues, and my works are included in a number of museums and other public and private collections.
My love for interdisciplinary mixed media possibilities is deep-rooted. In my long artistic history, I explored various disciplines and techniques, letting intuition guide me towards the crossroads of ceramics, photography, printmaking, sculpture, painting, and technology. I experimented with combinations of disparate yet complimentary art mediums as well as various forms of technological research.
Currently, my primary subject is the landscape with a deep interest in the language of abstraction. I feel incredible excitement painting nature with all its intensity of changing colors and light. What emerges on the canvas is the raw emotional impact, playful rhythms, bold colors, and poetic narrative structure.
I love what I do, and hope my passion is contagious.
