Sitio Web Bilingüe
Una meta muy importante de este nuevo y moderno sitio web de la Fundación del New Mexico Cancer Center es que sea completamente bilingüe, tanto en español como en inglés. Cuando se termine este proyecto, esta página introductoria será la única que tendrá contenido en ambos idiomas.
La nueva versión inglesa de este website se estrenó en el 8 de marzo, 2017, y el sitio duplicado que va a estar en español estará en linea pronto, pero para completar la versión en español va a necesitar más tiempo. Aunque la traducción por máquina (por ejemplo la que hace Google Translate) se ha mejorado mucho durante los últimos años, todavía falta mucho para proporcionar una traducción que se acerque a lo que diría un hablante de español nativo, y vamos a asegurar que la página en español sea excelente.
Una característica genial del sistema MultilingualPress que estamos utilizando, es la capacidad de identificar inmediatamente el idioma que prefiere el visitante, y automáticamente abrir esa versión.
Es bastante fácil pasar de la página en ingles a la página en español, y vice versa. En el menu principal a la derecha del logo NMCC, se encuentra Español en la derecha extrema si miras la versión inglesa, o English a la derecha extrema si miras las versión española. Haciendo clic en ese enlace se abrirá automáticamente la versión de la página actual en el otro idioma.
No hay nada que impedirá la inclusión de otros idiomas, incluyendo por ejemplo Navajo. Nomás necesitaríamos hablantes a quienes se interese la traducción.

A Bilingual Website
One of the most important goals of this new, modern website for New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, is to make the entire site bilingual, in both English and Spanish. When this project is finished, only this introductory page will have content in both languages.
The new English version of this website went live on March 8, 2017, and the duplicate site to be translated into Spanish will be up and running very soon, but completing the Spanish translation will take additional time. While machine translation (like that provided by Google Translate) has made amazing advances in recent years, it still has a long way to go in providing translation that comes close to what a well informed Spanish speaker would say, and we are going to make sure that our Spanish version is excellent.
One of the cool features of the MultilingualPress system we are using is the ability to immediately identify which language a visitor prefers, and automatically open that version.
It's very easy to navigate from the English version of any page to the Spanish version, and vice versa. In the Header Menu to the right of the NMCC logo, you'll find Español on the far right if you're looking at the English version, or English on the far right if you're looking at the Spanish version. Clicking that link will automatically take you to the version of the page you are looking at in the other language.
There is nothing that will prevent us from expanding further, for example, including translations in Navajo. We would only need speakers who are willing to do the translation.
