Experience & Interests: Karen daGenevieve has had extensive experience in critical care nursing as a staff nurse and manager. Throughout the seven years in which she managed the Special Care Unit at Gila Regional Medical Center, Karen developed and implemented case management of oncology patients. As liaison between NMCC and Gila Regional Medical Center, she has been caring for oncology patients in her community for fifteen years. Currently, as an FNP, Karen cares for patients with William Fowler, MD, at a Family Practice Clinic in Silver City, New Mexico. Karen is also a provider for the New Mexico Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program whose mandate is to offer screening services to non- insured and underinsured women. In 2003, Karen was the recipient of the Steve Schiff Award from the People Living Through Cancer for her work developing cancer care in Silver City.
