Experience & Interests: Dr. Avitia was born and raised in rural New Mexico. The unique challenges and needs of cancer patients motivated him in the completion of his fellowship in Oncology-Hematology. Dr. Avitia is pleased to return to his roots, where he enjoys working in our culturally rich and diverse state. He is an avid sports fan who maintains an active lifestyle through healthy eating, exercise and outdoor activities. Dr. Avitia loves spending quality time with his daughter, family and friends.
