Cancer Resources for Patients and Families

Having the right information at the right time is important. If you look online for information about cancer, you can easily be overwhelmed and unsure of what to believe or where to turn. Your physician and your team at NMCC are dedicated to not only providing the best possible treatment, but also to educating you and your family, and together, making the right treatment decisions.

For additional learning, amongst the many resources you may find online, we would highly recommend two different sites that are both excellent, highly reputable, thorough, up to date, very well presented and understandable, independent of any organization with financial interests in for-profit health care, and available in both English and Spanish:

nci

The National Cancer Institute (NCI), a major division of the federal National Institutes of Health.

Cancer.Net, a project of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Conquer Cancer Foundation.

On the right you'll find several important cancer topics. Click on either of the colored links below each topic to find lots of useful information about each topic.

We also have made available to you a page of excellent, educational booklets from the NCI, that you can read online, or download, save and print.

There are a large number of topics related to cancer, and you should have no trouble finding a great deal of information about any cancer topic using the resources linked from these two pages.

Please remember that your oncologist is your very best source of information about your diagnosis and treatment.
